Rangárþing Health Clinic, located in Southern Iceland, is seeking qualified doctors for short-term assignments during the autumn and winter of 2025/25.
Responsibilities
General appointments on weekdays
On-call duties for people who require urgent medical attention during evenings and nights
We Offer
– An experience in practicing medicine in rural Iceland
– 1-3 week assignments in a dynamic and supportive environment – or longer
– Accommodation during your stay
– Assistance with the application process for a medical license
– Wages are determined by dayshifts or on-call shifts.
Requirements:
– Specialist in primary care/family medicine from a Scandinavian country
– Ability to work independently in a remote setting
– Fluency in English or Icelandic
– Flexibility and adaptability to new situations
Doctors from other specialties than stated above may be considered for the position after individual assesment of qualifications.

Ragnárþing is located in the southern part of Iceland, approximately 1,5 hours from Reykjavík. It has two clinics, one in Hella and one in Hvolsvöllur. It serves a population of 4000 residents, with a significant increase in visitors during the summer months when around 2 million tourists visit the area.
