Akureyri Hospital (SAk) is seeking a specialist in diagnostic imaging for a full-time position. The position is permanent and available from October 1st or by agreement.

Diagnostic imaging provides comprehensive services and covers the northern and eastern regions (see about reading for 8 smaller diagnostic imaging services outside SAk). The department is very well equipped, in addition to general X-ray machines and a new fluoroscopy machine, there are two new CT scanners and an MRI machine on the department, as well as breast imaging, bone density measurements, and ultrasound examinations.

Akureyri Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides general and specialized healthcare services. We emphasize emergency services and major specialty treatments.

We are looking for an ambitious and good team member to participate in the ongoing development of both general and specialized healthcare services in collaboration with an experienced and coordinated team of specialists.

The position is based on a 100% work ratio. The job is available immediately or by agreement.

Qualifications

• Valid Icelandic medical license and specialist accreditation in diagnostic imaging
• Demand for broad general skills in imaging
• Skills in interpreting MRI studies and/or experience with simple interventions are an advantage
• Professional knowledge and experience, along with initiative and ambition to provide outstanding service
• Ability in teamwork and independent work methods
• Positivity, flexibility, and tact in communication
• A requirement for impeccable conduct in the profession, i.e., having a good reputation and that behavior and actions at the workplace and outside it are compatible with the job
