Fellowship Trained/ Sub Spec Abdominal- Pelvic Radiologist – Hamilton, New Zealand

  • Tertiary training hospital, state of the art equipment

  • Plenty of interesting Abdo- Pelvic work to keep you challenged

  • Flexible working, contract or permanent, generous relocation package!

We welcome interest from Abdo-Pelvic Radiologists looking for either a permanent or temporary move to New Zealand.  Come for the long term or have a 12–24-month career break! Develop your interest alongside other fellowship and sub speciality- trained colleagues who operate at a high level of expertise and professionalism.

You can work flexibly (including some reporting from home) across the full range of abdominal imaging, including upper and lower gastrointestinal, hepatopancreatic biliary and genitourinary imaging. You will run Multi-Disciplinary Meetings, teach registrars, and be involved with the continual development of high standards within the department.

The position is in Hamilton’s Waikato Hospital Radiology Department, which carries out approximately 200,000 examinations and procedures each year, including a high proportion of acute work as part of supporting a Level 1 Trauma Centre. The scope of cases and the pathology is diverse and complex, and the Department offers state-of the art equipment including 3T MRI and the latest dual energy CTs.

Hamilton has a decent sized city centre, a domestic airport, and Auckland international airport is only an hour away. The central Waikato region location offers a great lifestyle; being so close to beaches, mountains, lakes and many other outdoor pursuits means you can make the most of weekends and holiday time. With a lower cost of living and a great quality of life, you can choose to live in the city or more rurally with only a 20–30-minute picturesque commute to work.

Six weeks annual leave, superannuation, paid indemnity insurance, up to 10 days continuing medical education (CME) leave and expenses. Medical Council of NZ fees are reimbursed, and a relocation allowance is on offer.

You will need to be qualified in a comparable health system as a Specialist Radiologist and eligible to apply for MCNZ general registration or provisional vocational registration in the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology scope of practice. We will help you gain registration plus support you through your entire relocation process.

Please contact Rachel Spencer: or +64 21 493 907 for an informal chat or to register your interest.
